Best Front Hitch Ground Clearance for 2017 Chevy Tahoe

Question:

You offer two front mount hitches. The Draw-tite and the old tried and true Curt style that I have used on past blazer and Tahoes. I have also banged , bashed, and destroyed curbing, curb stops and asphalt roadways with the curt causing teeth jarring shocks which the hitch withstood for 6 years until vehicle trade-in. It requires Uhaul to mount it for me. The draw-tite requires no frame drilling but looks as though it could fold back and buckle the brace? Given any 2017 Tahoe LT being any specific height above the pavement... WHICH HITCH PROVIDE A GREATER CLEARANCE TO THE GROUND PLEASE???

Expert Reply:

As far as ground clearance goes for your 2017 Chevy Tahoe you will want to use the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31073 over the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65064 because the instructions call for you to cut the front fascia whereas the Draw-Tite instructions sort of hint that you may not need to. This means the Curt sits up 1.5 inches taller.
