Curt used to state that using the # 18050 stabilizing strap was a requirement for maintaining warranty coverage when their Class I and some of their Class II hitches are used for hitch accessories, although they've since backed off on that stance. The strap was designed to provide extra support for the bike rack. One end would typically hook to the frontward edge of the vehicle trunk, the other end would be looped around the bike rack near where the upright connected to the arms the bikes are connected to. It didn't work well with every vehicle and it was an extra step and an extra part that needed to be purchased.

When they had that requirement, we would recommend the Draw-Tite as their hitches didn't have the strap requirement. The hitches are so similar that there aren't too many distinguishing characteristics between them. It's pretty likely the video recommending the Curt over the Draw-Tite was produced after Curt dropped that warranty requirement.

I've found over the years that I personally prefer Curt's slightly more shiny powder coating, but that's strictly a matter of personal preference. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Curt # C11265 over the Draw-Tite # 24913 although either would work great for you. If you decide to use your Corolla for towing, you'll also need a # 118405 trailer wiring harness, a # C45521 ball mount and a trailer ball. For a 1-7/8 inch ball, use # A-80 or # A-82 for a 2 inch ball. Use # PC2 for a hitch pin.
