Differences in Tekonsha #118778 & Curt #C56365 for 2019 Honda Ridgeline
Question:
Why does the Curt power converter/black box require a ground wire and 10 amp inline fuse, but the Tekonsha does not require either the ground or fuse? BTW: I bought/installed the Curt and have the problem of trailer running lights not working all other lights work as expected. Still troubleshooting to find solution. Any new advice?

Curt went a slightly different route when they designed their trailer wiring kit for your 2019 Honda Ridgeline than Tekonsha did when they created the # 118778. The fuse is there to protect the converter box in case of a short on the trailer wiring, which this doesn't surprise me as Curt's boxes have proven to us to be slightly more susceptible to a short causing them to fail than Tekonsha. The extra ground is harder to speculate but it seems they found too that it worked better with a bit more ground support.
Did you check all of the fuses that you installed with the kit? Make sure they are all in the correct fuse slots?
