The Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30871 is compatible with a 2011 Ford F-250 if it has the "factory" underbed puck system. That said, there was a very similar underbed puck system available for the 2011 Ford F-250 as well called the Reese Signature Series Underbed Rail Kit. If that is what you have then the solution is the Reese Signature Series Hitch Adapter for Elite Series Bed Rails part # RP58419. It sounds like you can't get the handles locked in place because the puck won't line up and in which case the above would fix your problem as they are slightly longer than what you have.
If you do have the factory underbed puck system but there is a bedliner which adds thickness to the truck bed then the Reese Signature Series Hitch Adapter would still work for the above problem as well.
