Crossbar Spread for Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for 2019 Honda CRV and Roof Box Recommendation
Question:
Saw you video for the 2019 CRV which I have. In the video he said the bars should be 27.5 inches from each other. I have a bubble I would like to use but it is 21.5 inches apart for installation. So I was wondering if the bars can be closer together or is 27.5 inches the only distance? Thank you for your time.

The Thule Wingbar Roof Rack system part # TH711420 part #TH710501 and part # TH145046 for your 2019 Honda CRV does require a crossbar spread of exactly 27.5 inches per the instructions for part # TH145046, which is the fit kit for the bare roof of your CRV. This is due to the roof rack being custom fit for the bare roof of your CRV and is designed to install, handle the most weight, and line the contours in those exact locations on your roof. I have linked the instructions for that part number to this page for your reference as well as the install video for your 2019 CRV.
It sounds like you are referring to a cargo box that is 21.5 inches apart for install. I would double check to see if there is a range to install your box and if the spread 27.5 inches falls within the range then you will be able to install your accessory.
If the 21.5 inches is a fixed measurement required for install then you would not be able to mount it to the roof rack. If that is the case then you have a few options. You can drill new holes in the bottom of your old box or if you don't have the space to do so you will need a different box to use and I recommend the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH615 because it is a nice and simple box that is both easy to use and install. It has 16 cubic feet of storage space which is enough for the extra cargo of 3-4 people.
