Trailer Jack with Wheel Recommendation for a Bear Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a bear trailer for a g3 boat. I need a replacement trailer jack with a wheel it looks like I have a dl that is rated for 800 lbs. When I measured the exterior of the trailer - it is 3.5 x3.5. The prod desc says that it will fit the 3x5. Can you help me the proper jack? Also the trailer has a trail guard lock so that I can remove the hitch. We lost the key to the lock. I would like to purchase a replacement locking pin. Pls suggest appropriat.

The Dutton-Lainson Trailer Jack, # DL22300, that you referenced will fit trailer jacks up to 3 inches wide by 5 inches tall with the bolts provided. This jack will be able to fit your 3-1/2 inch wide x 3-1/2 inch tall trailer frame using longer bolts. The mounting bracket on this jack has different holes to accommodate different height trailer frames up to 5 inches.
You could also use a weld on style jack like the Fulton Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack, # FTJ120W0301. This jack welds on to your trailer frame and has the same swivel feature as the Dutton-Lainson jack.
I recommend verifying the tongue weight of your trailer before purchasing a jack to ensure you purchase a jack that is compatible with your trailers tongue weight. The tongue weight on a boat trailer will typically not exceed 15 percent of the gross trailer weight.
We do not carry a locking pin designed specifically for the TrailGuard system on your trailer, but we do carry the Rapid Hitch Trailer Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin, # AM3492. This set comes with two pins and the longer pin has an inside width of 4-1/4 inches, which should fit through your 3-1/2 inch trailer frame. The other factor that you will want to consider is the pin hole diameter. This pin has a 5/8 inch diameter, you should measure the pin hole on your trailer and make sure it is wider than 5/8 of an inch. I have attached a link to this set for you to check out.
