Can RV Roof Sealant be Sealed Over If Present

Question:

Hello, I purchased this Coach and someone has apparently coated the fiberglass roof with a rubber sealant. I am unsure how to proceed. The roof looks fine but from reading experiences from other r/v persons it is vital to make sure the roof is in good condition. Since there is already a coating of some sort on it already can I apply another coat of sealant on top of the existing material? And if so what do your recommend? Thank you

As long as you clean the roof and sealant you can seal over old roof sealant like with the # 0160297 you referenced and you would be totally fine. The other thing to check is to make sure the old sealant is in good shape. Try picking at it. If it wants to peal up then it should all be pulled off and replaced. But if it's solid go ahead an seal over it.
