The distance between the mounting holes on the Replacement QM3 Quick Mount Hardware # is 4 inches from bolt hole center to bolt hole center. Check out the picture I attached to see this measurement.

According to Thule you can use the QM3 mounting hardware, #TH04997, for the Weekender cargo box. The crossbars on your 1998 Toyota 4Runner will need to be up to 3-5/8 inches wide. I have included a picture that shows how this hardware will install.
