Connecting Blue Wire from Lippert Sway Command Electronic Sway Control System

Question:

I read the manual twice and I found the breakaway wires to the cord I hookup to the hitch safety chain loops. Mine are blue and red wires coming out. My trailer is a 2017 Dutchman Kodiak 24ft. Is this the wire blue that the blue wire from the command module to hook too? It looks like I can do it myself with no problems but I just wanted to make sure of this. Thanks

The blue wire from the Lippert Sway Command Electronic Sway Control System # LC380605 should connect to the brake output wire from your tow vehicle. Typically this wire is indeed blue in color, but I can't say for certain that it's the same wire you referred to in your question, as trailer manufacturers don't make information like this readily available.

To test for the correct wire your best option is to apply the manual override on the brake controller inside the truck's cab when connected to the trailer. This is going to send back full power along the brake output wire. You will want to test this wire with a circuit tester to see if it shows power with the manual override activated. If you get full power when applying the override (but not any power otherwise), this indicates it's the brake output circuit and the correct wire to which the Sway Command blue wire will connect.
