How to Determine the Difference Between the New and Classic Body Styles for a 2007 Chevy Silverado

Question:

Question is: How can I tell the difference between the new body style and the classic of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax Diesel? It appears that the subject tailgates differ from one body style to the other. Thank you in advance for your answer.

The easiest way to tell the difference between the 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic and New Body Style is the tail gate or the tail lights. The new body style will have a large Chevy bow tie emblem in the center of the tail gate. It will also have red tail light assemblies. Take a look at the parts I have linked that show the new body style and the classic body style.

If you have a classic model, you will need to use # VGM-99-4000. I do not believe the new body applied to the 2500 and 3500 models in 2007. They should have changed in 2008.

I have also included a link for the tail gates we have for the new body style just in case.

Yes the 2007 2500 HD had 2 body styles also. I have a 2007 Silverado 2500 HD duramax and I have trouble when ordering product all the time. I have to differate from the 2 as Classic or New body style to get the correct parts. Just some info you might want to know. I do not know about the 3500 though.

Common problem. Ford did something similar in 1997 and again in 2004. Mid-year changes are always confusing. Thanks for the input regarding the 3/4 ton models.
