Does a Hitch Effect the Hands Free Lift Gate Operation for 2020 Honda Pilot
Question:
Will the trailer hitch for a 2020 pilot affect the sensor for the lift gate? The sensor where you put you foot under the rear bumper and the tailgate opens.

The hitches for your 2020 Honda Pilot will not negate the function of your hands free lift gate. However since the receiver tube will be in the center, you will need to move your foot to either side to operate it.
I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98840. It has a very clean look once it's installed, the cross tube is completely hidden behind the bumper, and all that sticks out is the receiver tube. What really sets it apart from the other options is the finish. It has a flat black carbide finish that really helps prevent scratches and rust, and the fact that it's a flat color, it blends in better than some of the high gloss finishes.
The hitch has a 900 LB TW, and 6000 LB GTW, and is designed to work with weight distribution as well. If you do use WD the tongue weight stays the same, and the GTW bumps up to 9000 LBS. Keep in mind that's what the hitch is rated for, and typically hitches are rated higher than the vehicle they go on, so I always recommend checking the owner's manual and using the lowest rating of all the components you're using.
If you need to complete your towing set up you can use T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 118286 for wiring with a 7 way connector, or if you just need a 4 pole connector you can use # 118760. These are both really simple wiring kits, both are a plug and play design and will connect to the factory connector inside the rear cargo area,
Brackets will make sure you wiring isn't dragging the ground, and keeps the back of your Pilot looking clutter free, to mount a 4 pole connector you can use # 18144 and # 18140. To mount a 7 way connector use # 18136 and # PK12711U.
If your using your hitch for recreational purposes like bike racks, or cargo carriers the Thule Hitching Post Pro is one of my favorite racks # TH934XTR. You can carry up to 4 bikes with you to and from the trail, and it tilts so you don't have to remove the rack to get in the back hatch. It's a really nice easy to use rack at a great value.
I linked all the parts mentioned above, along with videos for you to check out.
