Recommended Gauge Wire To Use With Peterson Combination Trailer Tail Light
Question:
The wires on my trailer are not heavy enough to push into the 440-15L tail light. Don’t want to rewire. ???? 440-15L tail light

Expert Reply:
You won't need to re-wire the tail lights. The 440-15L has been replaced with the Peterson Combination Trailer Tail Light - 7 part # 432400 and part # 432400 which does work best with 18 gauge wire however if you having trouble getting the wires to catch in the sockets you can strip more coating away and fold up the ends of the wire to double them before sticking them in the holes on the back of the light. There are also 4 holes for each side of the tail light and you can use the smaller holes on the bottom if that makes it easier. I have attached a video for your reference.
