Hitch Compatibility for Different Models Of Mazda CX-5
Question:
Hi, You dont call out any differences between the 2019 normally aspirated and turbocharged versions of the Mazda CX-5. I have a 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature with the 2.5T which is new for 2019 and would think that the exhaust might be different and therefore might require a different hitch. Are they all the same? Thanks, Jeff

There is 1 factor that determines if a hitch is compatible with your 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature or not. It comes down to if it has a diesel engine. The turbo and naturally aspirated engines have no effect on hitch compatibility. There is several hitches available for the non diesels or gasoline models, and currently 1 for the diesel models.
For your CX-5 I recommend the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902 since it's a gasoline model. It's a class III hitch so it will be the most versatile and have the most options for accessories to mount. What I think sets this hitch apart from others is the finish, it has a flat or matte black carbide finish that hides dirt and scratches really well, and blends in the bottom better than the traditional glossy black hitch would.
The hitch has 600 lbs TW and 4000 lbs GTW, which is more than enough since your CX-5 is rated to tow 2,000 lbs according to the owner's manual. If you plan on installing this yourself I recommend getting a Nylon Tube Brush - 1/2" # 814092, it helps out with cleaning the weld nuts on the frame and can save tons of time, however the weld nuts should have a sticker covering them from the factory, but moisture and rust can still build up. The install is straight forward and definitely something you can do at home in your driveway or garage, I do suggest that you have someone to help you lift the hitch is place though.
We haven't had a 2019 Mazda CX-5 in the shop yet, but I linked an install video of when I installed the Etrailer hitch on a different year CX-5 for you to check out. I also linked our selection of hitch bike racks and cargo carriers for you.
