Recommended Hubs and Brakes to Build Offroad Trailer with Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension

Question:

Good Evening! I would like to use the Timbren Axle-less 3500 HD with a 4inch lift on my trailer. I have 255/75 R17 Bf Goodrich KMs off of my Jeep that I would like to use as well. I am confused as to what to get in between the tires and the suspension I mentioned previously. I know I want brakes and I would prefer to use 17 inch 5 on 5 bolt pattern wheels. What parts do I need? Ive attached a picture of what my trailer will eventually look like. it will have an RTT on top and some toys on the bottom, maybe a quad, maybe just some boats or bikes or something. Thank you!

Generally, it is not recommended to use automotive tires on a trailer application, with the only exception being LT tires. Based on the information I was able to find, it looks like you're in luck because that's exactly what your BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM tires are so you should have no problem using those to build your off-road trailer.

That being said, the 5 on 5 bolt pattern poses a problem since there are no hub/drum assemblies compatible with the spindles used on the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR35HDS02. The recommend hub for use with this Timbren system is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ, which uses a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. For compatible brakes, you can use # AKEBRK-7R-SA (right hand )and AKEBRK-7L-SA (left hand). This means that if you want to use the tires off your Jeep, you'll need to replace the existing wheels with ones with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. We do not offer any 17 inch trailer wheels.

The only other option is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle w/Flange - Off-Road Tires # ASR1THDS03. This system is rated lower, at 2,200 lbs, but allows you to use your existing 255/75 R17 Bf Goodrich tires with the 5 on 5 bolt pattern. For a compatible hub, you can use # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K and for brakes, you can use kit # AKEBRK-35-SA.

I've attached a few videos for you to check out at the bottom of the page.
