Recommended Trailer Hitch and Liftgate Interference on 2017 Ford Edge Sport
Question:
Hello, Will this hitch fit the 2017 Ford Edge Sport? I understand the lift gate sensor will be effected slightly. Thanks

The Curt Class III receiver hitch, part # C13234 will indeed fit your 2017 Ford Edge Sport. The hands-free liftgate sensor under the middle of the bumper will be obstructed by the hitch, but in the areas to either side of the receiver tube the sensors will indeed still work.
Actually, the Draw-Tite # 75234 could be a better choice. The hitch crossbar is concealed behind the bumper, with will interfere with the sensors to a lesser degree. Many folks don't care for the look of the crossbar, if you're one of them, this hitch could work better for you.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing, you'll need a few other items to complete your towing system. For a trailer wiring harness, use # 118677. For a ball mount, I'd recommend # C45070 which will bring the trailer ball up to about 17 inches in height which is about the height of the average trailer coupler. For a 2 inch ball, use # 63845 or # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.
I've linked to installation videos featuring the parts I've recommended.
