Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch With Underbed Rails for 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty Towing Keystone Raptor

Question:

Towing a Keystone Raptor and am looking for a sliding 5th wheel hitch for my 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty. Want underbed rails as well for the hitch because I am looking for a clean bed. What fifth wheel hitches are my options?

Expert Reply:

There are two hitches that have an underbed rail system which fit your 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and both have the capacity needed to tow a Keystone Raptor. I'll go over the options and make some comparisons so you are sure to get the right hitch.

- Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider # DM8550037 and Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for Demco Hijacker # DM8551009

- B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider # BWRVK3400-5W and Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion # BWGNRK1116-5W

The Demco Hijacker has a 21,000 lb capacity and the Companion has a 20,000 lb capacity so both fit the needs of a Keystone Raptor. These are absolutely the two best sliding hitches in the industry so you can't make a wrong choice, though my recommendation is the Companion for a couple reasons.

The Companion will give you the best overall ride quality when towing because of its powerful 1 inch thick jaw system which act like an adhesive to your king pin and greatly minimize any movement or noise that otherwise might occur. The Hijacker has a very good jaw system as well, with a single-piece jaw and reinforced steel bar in front, but the Companion has the best jaw system of any 5th wheel hitch on the market. The Hijacker does have an advantage in that you don't have to get out of your truck when making a tight turn because it slides automatically, though that's really the only true advantage it has over the Companion. It is very convenient and is enough for some people to go with the Hijacker, but the quality you get with the Companion really cannot be beat.

Both hitches can be removed from your F-350 for when you aren't towing, but you will need a hoist. You will then be able to use the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device # BWRVXA3130 if you go with the Companion, or the Demco 5th Wheel Lifting Bracket # DM6100 if you go with the Hijacker. I have added links to video reviews of both hitches, underbed rail systems and lifting devices for you to take a look at.
