Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Ford F350 with Hitch Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2012 f350 SRW with 8foot box. It came with the fifth wheel/gooseneck prep package. We just purchased a toy hauler with up to 19K lbs loaded weight. Do I need to purchase both the hitch and the under rail system or just the elite series hitch?

Expert Reply:
If you have the fifth wheel prep package you should already have the under rail system installed on your vehicle and all you would need is a hitch to install in that system. Since you have a toy hauler that weighs 19,000 lbs you will want a Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30922. This hitch has a capacity of 27,000 lbs and would have plenty of capacity for your setup.
You should have 4 slightly raised pucks in the bed of your truck. These will be what the # RP30622 will install into. Check out the picture I attached that shows these pucks.
I attached installation instructions for the # RP30922 for you to check out as well as an FAQ on the fifth wheel/gooseneck prep package that would be in your vehicle.
