Is There a Weight Distribution System With a 3-1/2 Inch Drop To Level a Trailer
Question:
Ill be towing a 10K pound trailer with a 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty diesel. Without a weight distribution hitch I need to fall 3.5inch in order to level out the trailer. I note that most of the weight distribution provide significant rise but minimal fall.inch Am I misinterpreting the specs. Tongue weight will be 1,000 to 1,500 pounds. What is your recommendation. Thanks.

You are not misinterpreting the specs on our product page. Those are the rise and drop measurements of the shanks that come with the weight distribution system.
You can purchase a separate shank like the Reese Weight Distribution Shank, # RP63971, that can adjust down to a 5-3/4 inch drop and can also accommodate the 3-1/2 inch drop that you need. This shank will also support up to 1,500 lbs of tongue weight.
For your 10,000 lb trailer, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System, # RP66561. This system can support up to 14,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and 1,400 lbs of tongue weight. Keep in mind that anything that is stored behind the rear axle of your 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty diesel must be added to the tongue weight.
I have attached installation instructions for this weight distribution system and an article on weight distribution systems for you to check out.
