Snow Tire Chain Recommendation for 2019 Audi Q5

Question:

I have a 2019 Audi Q5 Quattro with all season tires. I’m planning a trip to the slopes in CO. It might snow, roads could be slippery. Do I need chains on the car?

Yes, if you are going to be in an area where there is going to be snow, like in Colorado for skiing, you are going to need snow chains for safety. In fact, you may encounter signs that say traction devices are required, so it is a very good idea to have them.

I looked up the owner's manual of your 2019 Audi Q5, and it states that you can use tire chains, but they need to be on the rear wheels only. The best option for snow tire chains for your Audi are the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains because they are not only highly durable and effective for optimal grip in both snow and ice, but also very easy to put on. After you put them around your tires and loop the cables together you only need to drive off and they will actually tighten around your tires and self-center. The accompanying photo is of these chains on an Audi Q5, and I have added a link to a video review of these snow tire chains for you to check out which shows them being installed on an Audi Q5 so you can see how easy they are to use. The right chain will depend on your Audi's tire size;

- 235/55-19: Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01594250
- 235/60-18: Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01594247
- 255/45-20: Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH2004705255

The other option for you are snow chain cables, which are only for limited use to have on hand just in case, which is why they are the more economical option. This will also depend on the tire size of your 2019 Audi, and I've added a link to a video reveiw of the cables for you as well:

- 235/55-19: Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC2019
- 235/60-18 and 255/45-20: Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC2029
