what is the difference between the SumoSprings SSR-610-40 and SSR-610-54 for my 2020 Toyota Tundra?

The difference between SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-610-54 and part # SSR-610-40 is the weight capacity. The SSR-610-54 has a 2,800 lb capacity and the SSR-610-40 has a 1,000 lb capacity so it depends on what you plan on carrying in the bed how much capacity is needed.

Both systems replace the factory bump stops and will cushion the ride while supporting the load. The springs are made of micro-cellular progressive material so they compress under heavier loads and less under lighter loads.

I'd go with the lighter duty SumoSprings for your 2017 Toyota Tundra for the reason you mentioned. The heavier duty ones will be much harsher. I only recommend the higher duty ones for people who plan to be at the capacity of their vehicle most…
