Is there A Gen-Y Gooseneck To Pin Box Compatible With A Lippert Turning Point Bolt Pattern
Question:
I JUST BOUGHT A 2024 GRAND DESIGN REFLECTION 150 SERIES 295RL WHICH CAME WITH A CURT TURNING POINT.. LIPPERT SAID AS OF A MONTH AGO THAT THE REESE GOOSENECK IS THE ONLY APPROVED ONE THOUGH THEY DONT HAVE A CONVERSION FOR IT AND THEN SAID ONCE A TURNING POINT ALWAYS A TURNING POINT. IF GEN-Y WILL FIT MY CURT TURNING POINT THAT IS GREAT NEWS! SO CAN I PUT A GEN-Y ON IT? Thanks :

Yes, Lippert only approves of the Reese Goosebox so you would be voiding your frame warranty if you installed a Gen-Y gooseneck pin box. That being said, the warranty is typically only a year so it's not really a loss. Gen-Y offers the # GY48GR as a compatible replacement for the Turning Point bolt pattern. It's designed to work with pin weights ranging from 1,500lbs to 3,500lbs. Grand Design lists your trailer as having a pin weight of 1,434lbs, so while it will bolt in place it's going to give you a stiff, uncomfortable ride quality.
Because of the pin weight issue and there not currently being another option available at this time I recommend sticking with your Turning Point pin box.
