Will the Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier Work With a Hobie Kayak
Question:
Can I use the Thule paddle board carrier to carry my Hobie outback kayak on my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. Kayak weight is 85lbs. Length 12’ 9”, width 34”.

The best kayak carrier for a Hobie kayak is the Yakima BigCatch Kayak Carrier part # Y04091 which is specifically designed for larger fishing kayaks. The Yakima BigCatch has a 150 lb weight capacity and you can adjust the cradles to fit the exact shape/width of the hull on the Hobie kayak allowing for the best fit. The Yakima BigCatch will also fit the factory crossbar on the Subaru Crosstrek no problem. The Yakima BigCatch comes with all the required tie downs as well so you don't have to worry about not having everything you need.
The Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier part # TH890000 only has a 75 lb weight capacity per single kayak so it would not work for most Hobie kayaks.
