Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Question:

We purchased our 2020 RAV4 Hybrid without the tow package and now wondering what we need now that we're looking to puchase a jet ski with trailer?

To pull your jet ski trailer you will need a trailer hitch, wiring harness, ball mount, and tow ball. It is important to check your vehicle owners manual as well just to make sure you don't exceed the RAV4's capacity before you purchase your tow setup.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416 is a great choice of hitch that is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Toyota RAV4. It has an attractive gloss black finish and the 2" receiver allows for a variety of accessories to be carried. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56434 is a great choice of wiring that sets you up for a 4-way trailer connector. Finally an adjustable ball mount will allow you to add rise or drop as needed to level your tow setup. I recommend the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900 as a simple solution. I'm looking to get a tear drop trailer for my 202 Rav4 hybrid, It cam with the hitch but doesn't have the wiring harness. I've been look around and they are all 4 pin and most of the trailers are 7 pin, is there an easy way to turn the 4 into a 7 pin and add in a cordless brake remote?

I had the dealer install a 2 inch tow receiver when I bought my 2020 RAV 4 hybrid with the intent of putting a lift and scooter on the back because I have mobility issues. The company I was going to buy the lift and scooter from say the tongue weight will not support more than 125 pounds. Is the weight limitation correct?

That company is telling you how much your RAV4 can handle? Or they are saying that their lift will only be able to support up to 125 lbs? Typically if you have a 2" hitch receiver it will be at least a Class III and at least have a tongue weight of 350 lbs. You can verify this by looking at the sticker on your trailer hitch itself and then comparing that to the max tongue weight rating of your RAV4 that's listed in your owner's manual. Whichever one is lower will be your limiting factor and your max tongue weight rating.

We have a 2020 RAV4-HYBRID and want to pull a Yakima Rackandroll canoe and bike trailer with a maximum cargo weight of 350 lbs. Is this the appropriate hitch, ball, and connector for our situation? Thank you.

Yep! All the parts Patrick mentioned above will work perfectly on your RAV4 Hybrid so that it can pull the Yakima Rack-and-Roll trailer.
