Red Brake Lights on Trailer Flashing Instead of Amber Lights for Hazards Using Tow Ready Converter
Question:
Hello, i built an adapter with this device. US 7 Plug to EU 13 Plug. Basically it works as intended. But when turning on the emergency lights, the brake lights on the trailer are flashing and not the amber lights. If I only turn on either left or right signal, it works properly. I have a 2019 Ford Explorer platinum.

The internal circuits on the Tow Ready Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # 118158 will send the circuit from the emergency flashers on your Explorer through the stop light wire. This is actually normal operation for the converter and there's not really anything you can do to configure it so that it powers the amber lights instead.
Most US vehicles use the brake light circuit to activate the hazards, so when the circuits are separated by the converter only the brake lights will be powered on the trailer.
