Height Of Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box and Yakima SkyBox 21 Cargo Box For Garage Door Clearance
Question:
Hi, I am considering either the Thule Force XT XXL or Yakima Skybox 21 to go with our 2014 Honda Odyssey fitted with factory roof rails and crossbars. We are looking into garage height clearance and was wondering if you guys can provide the height dimensions of each box from the bottom of the boxs contact point with the crossbars to the top of the box? Essentially the height dimensions without factoring in the clamps. Thanks!

The height from the cross bar to the top of the Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 22 cu ft - Black AeroSkin part # TH6359B is 17.5". So you are adding 17.5" of height on top of the cross bars on your Honda.
The from the cross bar to the top of Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box part # Y07337 measurement is 16".
If I were you and I was worried about garage clearance I would go with the Thule Vector Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH613501 which is a bit less cubic square feet than the other options but only measures 12-1/2" tall.
