Can Dexter Trailer Hub # 008-399-93 Be Used with Drum Brakes
Question:
says for disc brakes, is it also used for drum brakes style

Expert Reply:
The Dexter Trailer Hub # 008-399-93 that you referenced can only be used for disc brakes with the addition of an appropriately rated rotor assembly like # K71-635-00. For electric or hydraulic drum brakes a hub-and-drum assembly is needed instead.
For an oil bath 8,000 pound hub-and-drum assembly that will fit the same spindle as the above option the Dexter # 8-285-10UC3-A will work perfectly. For the corresponding brake assemblies I recommend the Dexter Self-Adjusting # 23-450-451 for electric or # 23-410-411 for hydraulic.
I have attached a few video demonstrations that you can check out as well.
