Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2019 Honda CR-V for Towing Pop Up

I have a 2019 Honda CR-V that I need a trailer hitch and wiring kit for. I have a pop up camper that I plan to tow with this vehicle.

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2019 Honda CR-V is the USA made etrailer.com hitch part # e98848 as it has great towing capacities, installs easily, and only has the hitch opening hanging below the rear bumper so it's mostly hidden which also helps with ground clearance. I attached a link to an install video as well as a picture of what the hitch looks like installed as well.

For trailer wiring the Tekonsha kit part # 118741 is what i recommend as well since it has the easiest install and has the highest amperage rating. The higher amperage rating allows the converter box to be less susceptible to trailer wiring shorts damaging the box. I attached an install video for this kit on a similar 2019 CR-V as yours for you to check out as well.

Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
