Can Prodigy Brake Controller Install in Motorhome for Towing a Trailer
Question:
I have a 2003 RV with a US Gear break controller already installed. I want to tow a trailer, not a vehicle. Can I use the US Gear Break Controller, or do I need to add a different type like the prodigy 2. I have a prodigy 2 controller in my truck, but not sure it will work on my RV as well.

The US Gear brake controller you have is for applying brakes of a towed vehicle and not for a trailer so you'd need to install a trailer brake controller like the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 that you mentioned having installed in your truck. This is a very common brake controller installed in motorhomes like yours because of how well it works and how reliable it is.
The install process is the exact same as what you'd do to hardwire a controller to a vehicle. I attached a help article on hardwiring brake controllers for you to check out as well.
