can you use a hitch adapter on a 1.25 hitch for the saris bike carrier

Using a hitch adapter ends up cutting the capacity of the hitch it is installed in by 50 percent due to added leverage and movement so it's not a good idea at all in a 1-1/4 inch hitch since they are already lower capacity.

We have 4 bike racks that can fit 1-1/4 inch hitches but they are hanging style since they are lighter weight and not as long (less leverage). For that we have the Thule Apex XT 4 part # TH9025XT which would be a really great. It actually fits 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch hitches. This rack is lighter weight at 35 lbs, is very stable, and is also easy to use and install which is something Thule is known for. They make really high quality bike racks that are very durable and are also easy to use.
