Removable Bushing Placement On Shaft of Curt Q20 Head Unit  

Question:

On the Shaft ,there is a Brass Bushing on either side of Center,held on with ORing.........On mine ,,,One Bushing is Pressed on.....On other side Bushing slides on Shaft........IS THAT NORMAL ??? And if so why does one slide..........is there a certain spot to place it.....So when I set the Head down ,it’s properly placed.... Thank you for your Time........

Yes, this sliding bushing on the Curt Q20 # C16530 that you're referring to is a removable bushing (which is why it slides) and is completely normal. I've attached the section in the instructions where it refers to this bushing. Figure 10 (shown in the attached picture) says in regards to the placement of the bearing- Ensure that the machined bearing retainer and the removable bearing retainer are against lower bearing assembly. Both sit inboard of mid-section bearing shaft cradles during assembly.
