Hitch With 2 Receiver For 2017 Prius V
Question:
Hello - I was recently given a 2-bike Thule rack for a 2inch receiver hitch. I was hoping to get a compatible hitch for my 2017 Prius V to be able to use this rack. Is there a 2inch hitch available for my car? If not, would a 1 1/4inch to 2inch adapter maybe with a rise be advised, if all I planned to use it for was this bike rack? The rack itself is pretty heavy. I dont know the exact weight, but I can probably find out. Thanks for your help!

I have a solution for you that won't require the use of any type of hitch adapter, and that wouldn't be a great solution since using a hitch adapter would reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50%; with a Class I hitch, that would really cause problems trying to fit a heavy carrier loaded with bikes and not be over capacity.
I recommend using the EcoHitch # 306-X7192 . This hitch has a 2" receiver and a 525-lb tongue weight capacity to easily handle the weight of your bike rack and bikes without the need for a hitch adapter. This hitch offers a hidden cross tube design that mounts behind the rear bumper of your 2017 Prius V and leaves only the receiver visible for a nice, clean look.
I've linked the installation instructions for the EcoHitch to this answer for you to check out and see exactly what installation will entail.
