Wiring Adapter Needed To Install Tekonsha Primus IQ On a 2019 Subaru Ascent
Question:
My Ascent Touring had an adapter in the glove compartment when I bought it. This adapter mates to the cars connector on one end, has a fuse and four bare wires on the other end. White GND black battery and red unmarked and blue unmarked. My Primus IQ adapter has red, white, blue and black wires. Is it correct to wire the same color wires together? Thanks.

In order to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 on your 2019 Subaru Ascent you will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3062-P. The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter makes for a plug and play fit so you don't have to worry about connecting wires. In regards to the factory brake controller pigtail you have, I would assume it follows the same industry standard brake controller wire colors but I would not be able to confirm this.
