Are There Front Hitch or Recovery Accessories Available for my 2018 GMC Savana Van?

Question:

I have a 2018 GMC Savana 3500 cargo van. got it really stuck in mud last week and want to add either a winch capable bumper or front hitch receiver capable of 2inch . Also, does anyone make tow hooks for the front under frame? I have traditionally had SUVs and everyone for 25 years has had tow hooks. didnt realize how much I would miss them. Thank you.

I have a solution for you to add tow hooks to your 2018 GMC Savana Van, but there currently are not any front mounted hitches or winch capable bumpers available to fit your van.

I recommend adding tow hooks similar to the Curt Bolt On Tow Hook with Keeper # C22411 to the frame of your Savana van to help with recovering your vehicle if you're ever caught in that position again. If you have a rear mounted hitch, you could also add the Curt Forged Tow Hook # C45500 to provide you with a hitch mounted recovery point. All of these accessories are rated for 10,000-lbs, which should be more than enough to pull the weight of your 2018 GMC Savana Van if you ever get stuck again.

If you also need some recovery straps, the Ericson Recovery Strap with Reinforced Loops # EM59700 are a great choice.

I think I found the solution. It comes from the towing/hauling industry. Look up RTJ cluster of hooks. these are specially shaped hooks that make use of the approximately 1 in diameter holes that are found on the frames how many cars.It would be great if etrailer offered them for sale. They should!

That looks like an excellent solution. Thanks for the information!

I am in about the situation as the original question, since I have a 2018 Savana 2500 van. I do not see how bolt-on hooks could be attached to the Vans frame, because you could not access a nut inside the rectangular steel frame unless you removed the front bumper?.

Those bolt-on tow hooks are a universal-type item, so it's not something that will have the same mounting process for every vehicle and it sounds like they likely just aren't a good fit for the Savana Van. It looks like removing the bumper would be the only way to install them. Your other option would just be a rear hitch and tow hook like Erik mentioned.
