Will Lippert Trail Air LC158777 Pin Box Provide More Clearance than Existing Trail Air Rota-Flex

Question:

I need to replace my Lippert # 1716 Roto Flex king pin with the Flex Air # 158777 King Pin. I’m told this Flex Air is about 3 1/2” longer than my #1716. I need the extra length to push my 2020 Raptor just about 2” further back on my BandW 5th wheel Companion hitch. Current overall length of my #1716 is 32” Length from rear to center of pin is about 26 1/4” Can you send me those two dimension of your #158777 And also confirm the holes will line up correctly with the mount on the # 1716 for installation. If all dimensions work out, I’m ready to buy.

According to Lippert, the Rota-Flex was never available as a replacement for the 1716 pin box, are you sure you don't have one that's a replacement for a 1116?

The Lippert 1716 and 1116 share the same bolt pattern, but the 1716 is 6-1/2 inches longer and would provide more clearance. If you'll look at the diagram I provided, you can see the bolt spacing that the 1716 uses. You can compare that to your existing Rota-Flex, and if they're identical you could certainly use the # LC158777 and it would work great for you.

I've linked you to a help article that explains how to measure a pin box to make sure your replacement is compatible.
