Fit of Kuat Sherpa SH12B on 2012 Ford Escape
Question:
I have a Ford 2012 Escape with a class ll trailer hitch receiver. Would this rack fit my Suv, and would there be a clearance problem when the bikes are loaded hitting or rubbing tailgate of Suv

The Kuat Sherpa is designed for Class I or II receivers, so the shank would fit in the receiver with no problem.
To determine if you will have enough clearance, you will need to take a quick measurement. Measure from the hitch pin hole in the receiver back until you clear the rear bumper. If this distance is less than 7 inches, the Kuat Sherpa will have plenty of clearance with room to spare in order to install and fold up toward the rear of the vehicle when not being used.
