Where Does Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C Need to Mount

Question:

I have a 2009 Essex coach. I want to pull a car trailer and control the brakes from the bus air brakes. It would be most convenient to mount the control right next to the plug as there is an air chuck located there already. Is this OK ?

You really need to have the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C mounted in a location that is close enough for the driver to reach out and grab the manual override lever if needed. I know it's tempting to mount it near where there's an air line but if that's at the back of the vehicle we can't recommend that. If your trailer ever starts swaying you can easily kill the sway by applying the manual override as it will pull the trailer back from the tow vehicle and stop the sway.
