In regards to the Hopkins Tail Light Converter Kit with 4-Way Flat Connector part # HM48895, the input side is white for ground, brown for tail lights, yellow for left turn, red for brake lights, and green for right turn. The output side is white for ground, brown for tail lights, yellow for left stop/turn, and green for right stop/turn. I don't know what color wires you need to attach the input side to but all you need to do for this is test the wires on the vehicle with a circuit tester while each respective signal is active.

If you need to convert the above 4-way to a 7-way then you will also need the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185. The two 4-ways will plug into one another and the white wire needs to be grounded. That is unless your trailer has brakes and or a battery in which case the black wire will go to the vehicle's battery and the blue wire to the brake controller. The yellow wire can be tapped off unless your trailer has reverse lights which most do not.
