Will Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier Work With Motorhome and Bike Rack

Question:

Kyle’s answer was fine. My question was not clear. I already have a Fiamma bicycle carrier so I’m not looking for a carrier. Just need to know if the tire carrier will clear the bike rack. If not could I use a hitch extension?

The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 only has about 8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the back of the carrier and my understanding of Fiamma racks for motorhomes are that they are designed to sit pretty low when mounted on rails of motorhomes.

What you can do is use this spare tire carrier as a receiver for a bike rack, but you would need one that is rated for use on the back of a motorhome such as the Swagman Titan 2-Bike Rack # S63400. The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier will fit into the 2" hitch of your Winnebago Travato and the Titan will fit into the carrier and you will be able to carry both your bikes and a spare tire.

I have added a link to a video review of the Titan for you to check out.

Absolutely. The bottom receiver on the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 is rated for use with a tow bar so you can pull your vehicle as well.

Thanks for clarifying and it really depends on how big your spare tire is and how low the bike rack hangs down and sticks out. The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 is only about 8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the back of the carrier, like I said, and that is not going to be enough to clear the width of a bike rack. It may be able to sit under the rack but because it fits wheels that are 16" to 24-1/2" in diameter it seems unlikely to work under a Fiamma rack, at least from what I know of them. Additionally, Roadmaster has stated this carrier cannot be used with any type of adapter or extender, which is why a hitch-mounted bike rack is the best option with this carrier.
