Flat Towing 2000 Chevy Tracker
Question:
I am thinking about buying a 2000 chevy 2wd tracker with a manual transmission. RWD. Should it be towed with the transmission in neutral or in 2nd or 3rd gear in order to lubricate the transmission with being towed all four down?

According to what I read in the owner's manual on page # 4-44, 2WD Tracker models aren't supposed to be flat towed, even if they are equipped with a manual transmission. Doing so will damage the transmission. A 4WD model may be flat towed by shifting the transfer case into Neutral and placing the automatic transmission in Park or a manual transmission in 2nd. It's recommended to stop every 200 miles or so and start the vehicle in order to keep the transfer case lubricated.
