It sounds like you have a classic ground issue if the rear right and left turn signal/brake lights are not operating properly. You want to make sure the grounds of the trailer wiring are attached to a clean bare metal surface free or paint or corrosion.
If all of your grounds are okay, It is a good idea to check the make sure the wiring harness have a good secure connection with one another. It is common for the turn signals to stop working if a set of connectors are not properly seated. You want to look at the pins of your trailer connector and make sure they are not rusted. If you see any corrosion it can be lightly sanded off with a fine grit sandpaper.
If you are not able to fix the issue with the ground or connectors, trace the right and left turn signal wiring back from the trailer connector checking for obvious damage like frayed wiring that may need to be replaced.
You may also check your owner's manual to see if there is fuse associated with trailer lighting. If this fuse needs to be replaced then the lights will not work.
