The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU84FR will fit your 2014 Ford Escape and you won't problems opening the cargo door as we've tested this with other bike racks and Ford Escape models and haven't ran into any problems!
If you don't already have a trailer hitch then I recommend the etrailer.com # e98866 because it comes in a matte black finish and has a hidden design once installed, giving you a great looking trailer hitch (see attached photo).
