How to Connect Blue Wire From 4-Pole to 5-Pole Adapter on Toyota Highlander
Question:
I have a 2019 Toyota Highlander with factory installed 4 wire flat plug, where does the blue 5th wire install on that car? I know that it is the back up light circuit, but where is it? how do I find it?

As you mentioned in your question the blue wire from the 4-Pole to 5-Pole Adapter # 47515 gets connected to the reverse light circuit wire on your Highlander. Based on my research it looks like this is going to be a red wire on your 2019 model but you will still want to test to be sure.
What I recommend doing is testing the wiring behind the tail light assemblies with a circuit tester like # PTW2979 while you have the reverse lights activated. Once you find the wire that's carrying power with these lights on you can trace it back from the tail lights until you find a good spot to connect the blue wire from the adapter.
I have attached an installation video on a different vehicle just so you can get a better idea of this process.
