Clunking Noise While Towing with Reese Puck Adapter and Demco Hijacker on a 2015 Ram 3500

Question:

I have a 2015 ram 3500 and am using a reese picture frame adapter under the 18000 LB demco autoslide. I am getting a lot of clunking and noise from the hitch when I tow. I have adjusted all items on the hitch, puck pins, put in rubber spacers etc. No change to the clunking. Would the Demco 6099 change any of these issues?

Any clunking noise that you are hearing while using the Reese # RP30154 and Demco # DM8550034 wouldn't be alleviated by using the Demco Adapter # DM6099 instead for the puck system on your 2015 Ram 3500 unless, of course, the Reese adapter is damaged somehow.

It's possible that there could be a little bit of clunking during normal use but it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary or something that that is alarming. I recommend setting up a camera like part # RA7710 in the bed of your Ram and driving around a parking lot so you can get an idea of where that noise is coming from and we can see if there is a solution accordingly. Otherwise the only other thing would be for you to take your rig to a trailer shop so that they can physically get in there and see what's going on.
