Recommended Winch for Raising and Lowering a Draw Bridge
Question:
Saw the Q/A re: the above that was responded to by Jameson C. He indicated that he had a video that was relevant to this particular application but the link was not included in his response. Any chance the video link could be shared? I am also trying to build a drawbridge for a treehouse and was wondering if the split reel winch was better for that application but Jamesons response that for safety reasons the DL10950 is best? Any other useful info that could be shared would be great! Thanks...

I have attached the review video of the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch part # DL10950 to this answer page for you. The video can be found in the middle of the page under the "Featured Help Information" heading. As mentioned, the above worm gear winch does not have freewheel feature therefore so long as you are under the 1,500 lb weight capacity it will work perfectly for you. If you don't already have a cable I recommend using the Hand Winch Cable with Safety Hook part # DL24100.
