Is There Chance Weldnuts for Installing Draw Tite Hitch on 2008 Toyota Corolla Needs to Be Tapped
Question:
I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla that I am trying to install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch # 24913 on. I am having an issue getting the supplied bolts to tighten down. I clean all four out with the recommended brush and after a struggle got them started. After about only 1 turn the bolts do not go in any further. it does not look like I am cross threading these. Is there any chance that the holes need to be tapped to re-cut the threads due ti excessive corrosion?

There is a very good chance you need to run a thread tap into the weld nuts of your 2008 Toyota Corolla so that they can be cleared out enough to install the hardware of the Draw Tite hitch part # 24913. Weld nuts are notorious for collecting rust. Especially if they have been through a few harsh winters.
The bolt sizes are M12 X 1.25 X 35 CL8.8 which you'd need when selecting a tap.
