Is There a Brake Controller Harness for 2020 Jeep Gladiator With Factory Tow Package

Question:

I am considering odering a 2020 jeep gladiator overland with the factory tow package. A bbrake controller is not available at this time. Is there a factory plug under the dash I can connect to? Is a connecting harness available?

There are brake controllers with a wiring harness for a 2020 Jeep Gladiator with the factory tow package, with each of the brake controllers using the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Jeep # 3073-P.

- Good: Brake EVN # TK63VR
- Better: Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 (Good LCD display, 360 degree vertical mounting)
- Best: Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 (Best LCD display, storable settings, diagnostic checks & troubleshooting)

If you want an option that is outside your Jeep's cab, you will need to use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 which just plugs right into the 7-way with no wiring needed whatsoever. The only thing required is a smart phone so you can download the app to set the Echo up and that's it!

I purchase the Curt Echo wireless for my Jeep Gladiator and when I plugged it into the factory installed 7 plug , no lights came on the unit. Testing the plus there was power to running light break light and directionals but no power to electric brake or 12 volt power . Do I need a plug under the dash to fix this problem. Thanks for your time

In addition to the directional/brake light signals, the Echo also needs the 12V circuit to be active on the 7-Way. If you haven't already, make sure you're testing the 7-Way with the ignition on - on some vehicles this circuit is only active when it's running. Otherwise check for a missing fuse under the hood (the owner's manual for your Gladiator should point you to the right location). Nothing needs to be added under the dash for this connection. Once you've got that 12V circuit activated you'll be good to go.
