Troubleshooting Rear Spring Latch Not Holding Extang Trifecta Tonneau Cover Down on 2019 Tacoma

Question:

I have an Extang Trifecta 2.0 soft cover on a 2019 Tacoma. The rear spring loaded latch does not hold the cover well as I can lift the cover enough to see in the bed. Is there a flip tupe wedge clamp that I can replace this spring latch with? It is s nice cover with a bad rear latching set up.

I reached out to my contact at Extang regarding the issue you're having with the Trifecta 2.0 Tonneau Cover on your 2019 Toyota Tacoma. He said that the spring latch not holding the cover tightly in place is not normal. He said what might be happening is that the latch isn't locking into place when closing the cover.

Make sure when you close the cover that you're pulling down the latch, sliding it over to where it connects, and simply letting go so that it snaps up onto the bracket. You don't want to actually guide it up as the "snapping" action is what engages the locking mechanism. It might also help to put some pressure down on the top of the cover while you do this.

If this doesn't work please let me know as it could be a damaged spring latch, which would fall under warranty.
