Recommended Bolt-On Swivel Jack for 5K Food Trailer
Question:
I have a food trailer and need a new jack to put on the tongue. It weighs about 5k lbs. How strong of a jack do I need to buy? I want a swivel one that doesnt need to be welded on. The tires arent directly centered.

I recommend using the 2K Round Snap Ring Swivel Jack w/ Footplate # TJBB-2001-B OR the 1,500 lb Round Swivel Marine Jack # MJ-1500B if you'd like a jack with a wheel. Both of these are cost-effective options that are still quality products. The 2K jack has an extended height of 21-1/2" while the jack with a wheel has an extended height of 24".
Every bumper pull trailer should have a tongue weight that is no less than 10% or no more than 15% of the weight of the trailer. Since your 5K trailer should have a max tongue weight of 750 lbs this means that either trailer jack is rated well over what you need so you have a safety margin.
I have attached review videos for you to check out as well.
