Will Curt Trailer Hitch Rub Against Exhaust on 2019 Toyota Camry

Question:

Hello, I have 2019 Camry SE 4 cylinder. I am looking for a trailer hitch for a 2 bicycle rack. I would like the Curt because is the least visible. I have not seen any reviews about the exhaust rubbing or hitting the hitch after installation but I have seen some complains about this on Amazon reviews about C12176. Have you received or heard any complains about this? If you have, How about Draw-Tite hitch that also fit this vehicle? Thank you in advance.

We have not heard any complaints or feedback regarding the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11576 rubbing against the exhaust of your 2019 Toyota Camry when installed. This particular hitch is a bit more concealed but both it and the Draw-Tite alternative install in the same manner so both will be in pretty much the same position in relation to the exhaust when mounted.

While I don't foresee this as being an issue on your Camry, contact with the exhaust isn't a terribly uncommon occurrence when installing a hitch. Keep in mind too that when it happens it isn't typically something that's consistent across the board within the same model vehicle. It's usually a case by case instance due to the factory variance of exhaust hangers, rubber isolators, etc.

We actually have a dedicated article on exactly this subject that provides a few easy ways to resolve it if you do happen to have this problem, which I have attached below. I have also included the written installation manual that you can look through.
