Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler # RP85FR is a direct replacement for the Lippert 1621, 1621HD and 0719 5th wheel pin boxes. It will work on a recessed ball as long as the recess opening is 8 x 8-inches or larger and no deeper than 6-inches. If you refer to the linked photo you'll see that at 4 inches up from the very bottom (where the Goosebox clamps around the gooseneck ball) the clamp mechanism is 7-1/2 inches at its widest point.
